London Rock & Shop Tours
|
|
An alternative to regular tours, this tour takes you to places that satisfy your special interests
in music and fashion.
Markets
You will be guided to the lesser known, less expensive outdoor and indoor markets, odd shops and
new shops with non-touristy prices for your clothing, antiques and collectibles shopping. You
will get an insiders tip on these interesting spots where Helanie has bumped into everyone
from Noel Gallager(Oasis) to Joe Strummer(The Clash) to Lenny Kaye(Patti Smith Group) shopping
for bargains. | |

Nightlife / Rock Pubs
In the evening, your escorts from the world of music will take you on one of the many Pub Crawls
to rock pubs where you will watch bands that may soon be at the top of the charts. You will
hang out where bands like Supergrass hang out. You will have a pint and see Mary Lou Lord's
favorite stage where Kula Shaker started as a last minute substitution. You will meet the
cool haired promoter who booked these acts and continues to bring FAB acts to his comfortable venue.
|
Famous Sites / Invading the British!
You will see where the Damned and Pretenders rehearsed in North London and you will be centered
around the happening area - Camden Town.
Specific requests will be honored whenever possible. Examples: does someone want to see where
Marc Bolan is buried? Does someone want to see Cheyne Walk where The Rolling Stones lived?
WE will invade the British! We will wander by Abbey Road Studios and visit with Denny Laine's
daughter in St. John's Wood. We will arrange for you to visit Konk where The Kinks still record.
A nice day trip to Brighton will take you to the beach where The Who's "Quadrephenia" was filmed.

The Royal Connection
An outside of London extra and an added specialty is your tour of Longleat Castle, near Stonehenge
which houses beautiful original furnishings, Master's paintings, period costumes and has the
largest Safari Park in all of Europe. When the Lord is there, Helanie's friend, also titled
the Marquess of Bath, he may even greet you personally.
|
Optional music based day trips to Liverpool and Glastonbury.
Not to worry, we will have a one off bus tour of Big Ben, The Changing of the Guards, Westminster
Abbey and Trafalgar Square that should accommodate your basic tourist needs without taking much
time away from the Rock & Roll and Shopping expeditions. Also, we will take you to see a play at
a Fringe Theatre.
